The correct design of the piping in dust collection systems is as important as the filter unit. The most critical point in piping is to use the appropriate pipe diameter to achieve the same speed at every point of the entire system.
These diameters can be different from the standard of the ready spiral channels in the market. Regardless of the importance of these differences, there may be regional velocity reductions and therefore dust or oil accumulation in the filter lines made with spiral channels. Depending on the type of dust or steam, these may cause fires in the dust collection lines.
On the contrary, speed increases in pipelines cause abrasions at points such as elbows, forks, etc., and may cause discomfort in terms of working comfort as it will create noise in the line.
Another drawback is about energy efficiency. Since the friction coefficient of spiral channels is high, it can cause high pressure losses, which means larger fan and energy consumption.
